In the supermarket wars, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons all vie for market share; and in a free market economy, we might think that this is how things should be. After all, you’ve got to eat, and healthy competition might just help keep prices down. But is the same internecine competition also the best way to fight cancer?

Why Race for Life is Just Not On!

Race for Life is organised by Cancer Research UK which is by far our largest cancer charity. Yet, for some reason best known to CRUK, Race for Life is open only to women. With even the Royal & Ancient in St Andrews now voting overwhelmingly to open up their membership to both sexes, isn’t it time that Race for Life followed suit?
