GIS Data : Points Databases

SPA have built up many databases at point level for use in our own GIS projects - find the nearest, closest competitor etc. We are now making many of these geocoded databases available for general sale. Amongst the GIS data offerings we have are:

	Postal Sector, District & Area Points. A file of centroids for each sector, district and area enabling you to place them on a map.
	Full Postcode Points. Using the Royal Mail's Postzon file, a database of all GB postcodes with 100m grid references. Additional information can be added to the file such as postcode type (large user, non-residential, mixed, residential), delivery points and enumeration district codes. The database can be provided based just on postcodes that are currently valid, or SPA can supply a list of almost all postcodes that have ever existed - over 2.1 million postcodes! This "historic" file flags old postcodes and holds the new postcode to which an old postcode has been updated. In addition SPA have added information about when the postcode was "born". Invaluable for geocoding customer files with old postcodes.
	Multiple Retailers. Using data from Retail Locations, SPA can supply files of the locations of any multiple retailers (or retail sectors). Retailers range from post offices to supermarkets, clothing shops to petrol stations and pubs and restaurants to travel agents. Pick and choose the retailers you want or even take the full database of over 200,000 multiples. For each record we can provide the retailer name, fascia, holding or group company, postcode, posttown and locality and grid reference.
	Business Places. At individual postcode level, SPA can provide files of how many workers work at that postcode and how many businesses are located there. We can even provide a breakdown of the businesses in terms of SPA's Broad Industrial Groups if required. For any specific business or industrial sector SPA can also source the location of each business, so if you want all metal manufacturing sites or all chemists (including independents), ask for a quote.
	Educational Establishments. A database of schools, colleges and universities across GB. Over 30,000 schools are classified into primary, middle or secondary and over 6,000 colleges and university locations are "site" based and include the location of all departments and faculty buildings. There are establishment names, addresses, postcodes and grid references available.
	Shopping Centres. Contains the location of over 3,000 shopping centres, categorised by floorspace where known. Retail parks and Factory Outlets are identified separately. Name, address, postcode and grid references are available.
	Tourist Attractions. A comprehensive database of tourist attractions through GB. Containing information on over 5,000 attractions, the database lists the name, address, postcode and grid reference of each. The data is also categorised by the number of visitors per annum and by the type of attraction.
	Railway Stations. Over 3,000 railway stations are represented, both manned and unmanned. London Underground, Docklands Light Railway, West Midlands Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow metro stations are also included. Names and grid references are supplied.
	Airports. All the major GB airports plus lots of minor airports are inlcuded in this database.
	Sports Venues. A database of over 700 major sporting venues plus thousands of minor venues, ranging from all football grounds, rugby stadia, horse racing venues, county cricket grounds, athletics stadia and major golf courses. Name, address, postcode, grid reference, sport type, and ground capacity figures where available are provided.
	Motorway Junctions. Over 650 motorway junction names and grid references allowing you to see how accessible your stores or facilities are to motorway access.
